...much on my case against NYC? I was in an accident in August of 2004 with a NYC Firetruck. It was not my fault and I was injured and could not work for 9 months per doctors orders. Since then I have recovered from the accident. My car was totaled and I could hardly walk. My lawyer seems to be giving me the run around. He answers my phone calls but he always seem to say the same thing. "Im working on it!"

I don't know if there is anything I can do because of it being in 2004. What I want to have happen is for the City of New York to either settle or for us to go to court about it because it wasn't my fault and I have tons of evidence against the ACTUAL PERSON driving the truck.

Any Ideas or suggestions. Thank you in advance.

Yes, you can dismiss your council at any time and appoint another attorney to take your case. Good luck

It could take many years to get a settlement from a city...this case could go on for another 10 years.

Go talk to another attorney. You can change. if he is not making much movement, ask him why. these things take time.

Yes you can; In a civil case you can change of lawyer at anytime.

BUT like some people say, this kind of lawsuit against the Government can take years, from 5 to 10 and even more. So your lawyer could be telling you the true. You can change lawyer but that wont make things go any faster if the Government is still refusing to pay; besides you still would need to pay the fist lawyer for his time.

So it's not very advisable to change lawyer for something that might be out of his hand.

Before doing anything try to have a "relax" conversation (preferibly face to face), to get updated on what have been done; and then from the outcome of that conversation you decide what to do.
