I previously owned a sidekick3 but decided to sell it because it was a piece of garbage; now I have a pearl.

1. Any general 'MUST DOs/HAVEs' for the pearl?

2. Can I somehow set up Email through an POP/IMAP type of server, for my University email address?

3. What's the best and cheapest way to get all the services that the BB Peal has? I definately need unlimited texts and internet; minutes...I don't need over 300 probably.

Thanks!

1. Any general 'MUST DOs/HAVEs' for the pearl?

- Sleeper Case or Clip (I am using a Seidio swivel clip and love it)
- Some type of skin protection (I am using bestskinsever which is very thin ...Seidio also sells thicker "skins" and sells a swivel clip for use with these skins, or you can get them off of various other sites).
- 1GB MicroSD card (or at least 512mb...I have a brand new 512mb I'll sell if you want).
- If you want a 2GB card, you need to update the handheld OS

2. Can I somehow set up Email through an POP/IMAP type of server, for my University email address?

- Yes...not sure how, but i imagine you would go to the BB email setup page for your mobile provider (for example, i log into my T-mo account to set up my email addresses). It should be very easy to do (enter email address and password).

3. What's the best and cheapest way to get all the services that the BB Peal has? I definately need unlimited texts and internet; minutes...I don't need over 300 probably.

- If you have T-mo, I suggest the minutes and mail plan. I am paying $59.99 for unlimited data, unlimited text, and 1000 anytime minutes (no free nights/weekends or mobile-to-mobile though)

Wow thanks all!

Yes, I am sticking with Tmobile. I've looked at that minutes and mail program but was just curious if there was anything cheaper.
Anyone know if I would be able to add my sisters phone/number to that plan if I went with that one, even though she has a razr? Would there be a fee?

Any other tips are welcome, and thanks again to all who replied.

You would probably have to get a family plan in order to add your sister's number...and the cheapest family plan available with T-mo is $49.99.

If you want to go the CHEAPEST route with voice, unlimited mail/data and include some kind of text messaging, then you would go with the Basic Plus plan (300 anytime, unlimited weekends) for $29.99, add on unlimited BB data (non enterprise version) for $19.99, and add on 400 anykind messaging for $4.99. So you'd still end up at about $55.00 per month.

For the extra $5 per month for the min&mail plan, you would sacrifice unlimited weekends and 400 anykind of messages, but you would have 1000 minutes instead and unlimited text-only messages.

As a 'must' have....can't believe no one has said rabroad.com BB Launcher.
I just downloaded it on to my Pearl.

First Post - by the way.
