Ok, I have some questions.

First, I downloaded and installed FreeWire (LimeWire?), and I'm getting all kinds of errors. My statistics are showing all kinds of routing errors and dropped messages. Is this normal? Also, I just fired it up (like a minute ago), and already it's reporting 71,000 Mb total transfered files. Huh!? I don't have *that* fast a line!

Next, a general P2P question. How do I setup protected file transfers. I have some files that I want to share with a few other people, but I don't want the general public getting a hold of it. Is that possible on the Gnutella network? If so, I might be able to convince some of my clients to use P2P programs, and thus open up a few more sites for distribution.

Thanks for the time

Stay away from freeWire .
Of all the LimeWire forks it's the worst yet .
They do install spyware .

- Buy LimeWire Pro for $ 9.50
- Compile your own LimeWire using the source
- Download and use Clean LimeWire
- Download LimeWireNOVM.zip from www.limewire.com and alter ads.props

That are about all the options .

Also , you can't set up a private transfer .
Gnutella is a public network .
Even if you do set-up a connection up between to clients , if you make a mistake somewhere in the config and your ( or his) client makes or receives an other connection your file is shared for everyone on the network .

If you need to make private files availbe tranfer set-up an password-protected FTP server or HTTPS web server .
