I currently have the G2, and was wondering when/if this phone will recieve future updates-gingerbread in particular. Also I'm familiar with the rooting process, is there an easy/quick way to root the G2. Thanks.
 
No idea yet. The Nexus One (a google phone) hasn't received Gingerbread yet. So once the N1 gets it, then I expect others to slowly start doing the same.

The only phone currently that has it is the Nexus S. So, don't get over-anxious. It'll probably be a few months before it comes out.

As far as rooting, it's fairly simple. There should be guides around here somewhere...
 
thanks. Ok so i temp-rooted with the visionary 14 apk. i downloaded rom manager and downloaded the clock work recovery mod. I attempted to reboot into recovery (not sure if I did this right) bu the clock work recovery wasn't there. So how do I reboot into recovery for the G2, and also why would'nt the clock work mod have worked? Thanks.
