New to smartphones...

"get over it"

New member
so my employer has me on a Verizon plan currently and they said that if I want to add Data that I have to pay the additional $29.99 and buy myself a phone. We also have a Tmobile account that has a number that currently being used. The problem is that the service with Tmobile where I am from is poor. They said that they would also get me a phone to use if I use the Tmobile number.

I am looking to buy a phone that I would be able to use on both Verizon and Tmobile in the event that I decide to go with Verizon anytime down the road.

Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

T-Mobile and Verizon use 2 totally different and incompatible technologies. T-Mobile is a GSM carrier and Verizon uses CDMA. You won't be able to get a device to work on both.

You know, I was about to agree with you, but then I remembered the Verizon world phones. They have sim cards and could thus be unlocked right? Then T-Mobile could be used with edge data speeds theoretically...

A more feasible option would be to just get the Verizon phone and if you want to switch later, recoup some loses by selling that phone. Good condition smart phones hold value surprisingly well.
