I just started Remeron for anxiety. MD said to take 15 mg at bedtime.

For my 1st time, I took just 7.5 mg at bedtime & slept like a baby for the first time in a year. A bit groggy during the day, but functional.

Feeling safe about this med, I took the full 15mg last night. I woke up constantly - bad nights sleep. Super groggy today.

Won't see MD for 2 more weeks; in the meantime, I dunno if I should just take 7.5 mg, or take the full 15mg ?

I know these meRAB take time to adjust to - but I hate to be taking more than I need (or more than my body neeRAB/wants!)

Any suggestions/insight? thanks! :)

Maybe stick with 7.5 for another 2 nights, but you realy should aim to get to the dose your doctor has prescribed.

7.5mg is a subtheraputic dose, at that dose leval it is functioning simply as an antihistamine (like Benadryl or Sominex). 15mg is the minimum dose that should show significant antidepressant effects. If the side effects persist, speak to your doctor.

Best of luck

the grogginess with this med is worse on the lower dose. Its the only one that I know of that works like this. So the higher the dose the less groggy during the day and I did notice this when I was on it but I still felt someone tired and sleepy. And I ate ALOT but that didn't bother me I enjoyed it actually.
