New to exercising... Help me out?

Age 17. I'm 5'6 and 128 lbs. Male.

But I want to start doing exercise!! I dont mean having to lift 200 lbs weights, though.. Just enough to keep my body "good looking" ;) I want nice arms and abs! Lol...

I've started doing about 40 pushups before bed as of recently.. But Ive read online about how ineffective it is =( what should I do? I can't go to a gym btw.. Sit-ups? Is doing 40 pushups a night fine? Should I get 5 lb weights and do some workout video?

What do you think?
