I'm very new to anxiety. In fact i had my first anxiety attack only 2 weeks ago. after a week and a half of haveing attacks i went to the ER for them to tell me that there is nothing wrong with me besides low potassium in my blood and anxiety due to the low patassium. I read the symptoms note and was shocked at how many symptoms i have. I guess i was kind of in denile but now accept that i very well may have some sort of anxiety/panic disorder. Now i'm wondering, Where do i go for help? Do i just go to a regular doctor, or do i go to a phychiatrist? I really need to know because quite honestly i believe im going crazy. I was fine 2 weeks ago and this all just kind of hit me so suddenly and its alot to deal with. All i really want is for this all to just go away and to feel "normal" again, but I'm startin to think that its never going to happen. Any tips or suggstions would be a great help and very appreciated. I'm tired of being worried and scared and willing to try anything that might help. Thank you in advance for any help you may offer.

How caring of them to tell you that nothing is wrong. Believing you are going crazy, is a not an uncommon symptom of GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder), welcome to the club. Starting at your family doctor would probably be a good start. Also there are literally thousanRAB of self-help books on Anxiety available. Greg
