Just got the tallboy seat today, got home and installed, discovered the seat has a crease about 7 inchs down from the front of the seat, almost like there's to much material, does anyone else have this problem? Or did I get a bunk seat?
Are you talking about this? I did not notice it right away due to the excitement of something new. Does not bother me now. BTW-This seat has about 25,000 miles on it. I like it as it moved me back as advertised. However, on my '07, the backrest bracket needs to be modified as it does not have enough holes in it to move it rearward to fully enjoy the seats "move back" qualities. Sorta adds a lumbar lump...
I just installed my Tallboy last week. You have the same observation as I do. It seems there is too much material. I don't think it's an issue, but it do feel the need to smooth the seat before I get on.
If you're adding a backrest, the adjustable won't fit. I tried and I can't do it. I also have the non-adjustable, and I was able to engage the backrest by installing the bracket at it's upper most position.
Got the tallboy on my07 and have had no problem with the adjustable backrest. Did have Allen at Mean City cycles redo it with memory foam front and back. Good seat now
I'll post some pictures later on today the crease Or wrinkle is right where the seat bends up from the flat of the pan, just looks sloppy as hell to me, pictures in catalog don't show no wrinkle, make me think I have a pillow seat.
Not sure what you are talking about but I have no issues with my Tallboy as you are describing. Attached are a couple of pics. I do have one question, How are you guys getting the back rest installed? I have no open slot to the fender that allows for the backrest installation. Or am I overlooking something [maybe not the same seat??]
I've got the Tall Boy seat on my 2009 Ultra. I never noticed before I read your post, but I just went out to the garage to look at my seat. I see what you are talking about. A small kind of fold about 7-8 inches from the front on top of the seat. Hasn't caused me any issues for the last 20k miles as I didn't even know I had it. If I sit on the seat I no longer see it cause it is under my crotch.
I really like the seat. Moves me back a few inches and makes the bike fit my 6'4" frame much better than the stock seat.
