New T3 user.

I looked at the top thread hoping for an FAQ for a new T3 user, but did not find the info I needed. Is there some place for a T3 user to go to get their T3 up and running at its optimal. What are the Freeware apps to get. What other essential programs you need. How to tell if you got the latest T3 hardware rev etc?

WHat accessories are a must or recommended.

Thanks.. Gave search a try. I had done a manual search before my initial post, but did not notice I only went back 30 days. Duh! I now have my T3 in hand and have loaded up some apps.

I am still trying to decide if getting a third party MP3 player is a good move or not. I have downloaded Pocket Tune. Any opinions on Real Player in terms of Playback quality?

I am trying out the Boxwave clear screens and so far I am impressed. I ordered the versacharger and two sync/charge cables to try and help mitigate the poor battery life.

Bejweled2 rocks on this unit.

My next move is to look into some backup software and possibly a launcher.

Hi,
From my experience pocket tunes can deliver louder and clearer sounds. Ditto fo tealmovie player. It optimizes the full resolution of T3 as compared to the Kinoma player. PT is the way to go. Plenty of tweaks like cross fade.. Enjoy.

T3gunner,

Glad you chimmed in ................

I am using TealMovie and was (somewhat) satisfied. I have the picture quality of encoded movies lookin' pretty sweet but the sound has always been pretty horrid. It (on all movies) sounds very "static-like". Well, I just downloaded some tunes onto RealPlayer and they sound awesome .....I was amazed. But then I started thinking: why does TealMovie sound so crappy? I know it's a good product / good developer. What settings can you advice for audio?

Cheers,

Hi Syno and guys,

My new love is now TCMCP. I'm sure its quite needless to explain why. Simple interface, great playback without conversion (most codecs) and most importantly freeware..

Movies can be played without needing to resize or making the frames lower. Just use a card reader and transfer the movie to your memory card. Then plug it in to the palm. Then click open in TCPMP then it should play. Cheers.

I see .......... so what we're basically doing is taking a regular old Mpeg or wav movie, etc., etc..... using a card reader to get it into (ANY?) directory and then navigating with TCMCP to find it /play it. Seems like a lot ........I'll have to try it to see what everyone's talking about.
