Every morning I am waking up now feeling moderate pain in my upper mid abdomen, feeling regurgitation and like I could constantly belch. The pain is bad enough that I cannot continue to lay down with it and go back to sleep. But it gets better when I'm up a bit. I pressed on the pain this morning and the burning went up through my back into my shoulders something awful, but not directly in my abdomen or esophagus. I know I have reflux, an ulcer, hiatal hernia, and severe esophageal/stomach inflammation. The medication I'm taking stopped the heartburn - pretty much felt like it was lit with a match beforehand. My ulcer doesn't hurt too much now. I don't get it at all. I have thoracic back pain, and I can't figure out if it's my back burning or my stomach, I'd think since I pressed on my tummy and it did that, it's my tummy. Who knows. I'm so confused. I was going to ask for an MRI on my back, but I don't know what to do. I've been through PT twice for my back and the exercising helped. But how, if my esophagus or tummy could be causing chronic pain there (I'm suspecting) would physical therapy exercises help it so much. Almost cured it while I was going to PT but of course flared back up because I can't do my exercises at home. There's a spot in my back that won't stop hurting. I suffer every night from it and during the day constantly. I've had muscle twitching there, burning, redness, tingling, thobbing pain goes into my neck, jaws, and I get migranes with it and start vomitting. Sometimes my neck goes nurab. Could that all just be from my tummy hurting? I called my gastro doc early last week, never did get a call back, so I switched my reflux medication myself back to Kapidex. And I thought it was helping, unlike the other, thought I would die from. It did nothing.

Have you tried trigger point therapy to help with some of the muscular pain?

I just had difficulty eating, know how food gets stuck in your neck & esophagus and feels like it stays there right in the middle. I guess that pill isn't working like I thought it was. That makes me so mad.. But never mind. Guess my pills just suck one. Stupid stuff doesn't work.

The hardest thing to give up is the soda! In general its probably one of the best things to give up. That and chocolate and anything spicy. I am so frustrated because now its back to bland for awhile. Grrrrrh! Today my brother in law made fried fish and chips. I couldn't say no and I had ice tea...that has caffeine. I will pay later on. My poor throat. I have this along with my allergies and it's nothing but gunk up and down my throat. Sorry it's so graphic. Ugh! I am just councerned with the lump inside on the left. I don't want to be gross...but I had a tonsil stone come out of there a couple of days ago. Do you ever get those? A hard gross thing that gets lodged in there. NASTY! Maybe I have more and that is what is still lumpy in there. I am ready to have a camera go down the back of my throat again. Gosh its our cross to bear isn't it?:(

My therapist used to apply pressure to my back and shoulders for my pain. I guess that's kind of like trigger point therapy. It really helped, while I was going.

lol. Caffeine isn't hard for me to avoid. If I drink it, it will break my face out. Same thing with chocolate.

I quit smoking and started using Betaine yesterday instead of Kapidex. I'm going to try it two wks and try to figure out if my stomach is either too low or has too much acid. If symptoms improve dramatically, that'll tell me all I need to know. I won't have to go through that PH test. And since I quit taking Kapidex, I didn't wake up with the tummy pain this morning, like I usually do.

I've never had a tonsil stone. You should call your doctor and ask them if the lump is normal or not. I would think not. Did you spit out the stone or have it surgically removed?

Have you tried any nasal steroid sprays for the post nasal drip? Your allergy medication doesn't sound like it's working so well.

Hi there! I really feel for you. Hang in there. I am dealing with reflux real bad again. Seems like I get a bad round once or twice a year. I woke up with acid and some food coming back up my throat the other night. Yuck! Scary! And I have a lump in the left side of my throat that I need to get figured out what that is. Are you on meRAB everyday? And changing your diet? I had to cut out pop and all the fun stuff. I hate that. When I cheat I suffer. I am on Prevacid. It seems to work pretty good. Let me know how you are. Have a great day!

Yes every day since my endo, I'm thinking was done around the end of last mth, except for when I got so bad with ulcer pain, I couldn't eat, then I used Betaine HCL for a few days instead, and started eating okay again, but the ulcer pain got better and the reflux symptoms ended up flaring some.

Diet no, but I do avoid spicy stuff and spagetti sauce. Except for last night, I had this mexican taco salad crap. Yeah I probably do need to alter what I eat a little bit.

So maybe it's not the medication, maybe it's because I ate a taco salad. Hehe. Well, that taco salad isn't causing that abdominal pain every morning though. I'm about ready to toss my acid reflux pills in the trash and say the heck with it.

Hi again! I called the doctors office today and have an appt for Thursday to check out the lump. I don't know how on earth she can figure it out. We can't see it. So my guess is I will be sent to an ENT and have a camera put down there or whatever they want to do. I just want to know what the heck it is. I can just feel it when I swallow. Not sure if it is a gland because I don't know where glanRAB are located in the throat. It is all so very frustrating. I have been on the Prevacid for almost 2 weeks. It has helped dramatically. These things take time. I hope you are feeling well today!:)

Your glanRAB are on the front of your neck, each side close to the top of your neck. Yes, your glanRAB can stick out a bit while your swallowing something, that's normal. Maybe your not pressing in hard enough to feel the glanRAB. You should feel something on each side kinda feels like a circular knotted place in your neck, like if you had a small cyst there, well that's what it reminRAB me of. Your gland shouldn't increase in size and measure more than 1 cm. When you are fighting an infection, they will increase in size. Maybe you have a virus right now with the post-nasal drip so bad. That's pretty much when my post-nasal drip goes haywire.

I was fine today until I went to the bathroom, then the stomach pain flared up. I told my doc I thought that pain was from where I have IBS but after she dx'd the ulcer, it was kind of overlooked. Just awhile back, I had what felt like mild food poison, and had over 60 bowel movements, and I was in so much pain, in my upper mid abdomen, it wasn't funny. So I really don't know. I guess both problems are hurting me. Now this is what you call a grose topic of conversation. LOL.

Well just how strict is a reflux diet? My dr never put me on one, so I avoid fooRAB that seem to make it really bad.

I eat mostly steak (ribeye/fillet mignon/t-bone), chicken breasts in a salad with ranch dressing, cheddar/italian cheese, w/ tomatoes, pork chops in italian dressing, rolls, white/wheat bread, bologna, turkey, peanut butter. Baked potatoes. Mac & cheese. Bacon, eggs, p/b granola bars. And occasionally mexican. Some fruit. Pizza. Always drink diet lime soda. So what am I doing wrong? The meat is always cooked on a grill. I hate greasy food.

I'm going to take a wild guess at tomatoes, dressing, pizza, and anything mexican, right? I can't give up the soda, excuse me, don't want to, but I could drink alot less if I tried. And I love pizza. OMG. Give that up. IDK. And the menthol in my cigarettes (I am trying to quit). It's hard. I guess this is up to me if I want to feel better bad enough.
