New Sony laptop wont let me download iTunes?

I try to download itunes onto my computer and it will start to download then just stop. The computer doesn't freeze but the download just stalls at different stages (sometimes at 20% in or 40% in etc). Does anyone have any solutions to the problem. I have been to apple support and tried their troubleshooting help but computer wont delete temp folder and the other solutions don't work. THANKS
