Hi,

I was sent my new ebill this morning... and I noticed the following at the very bottom:

"Due to a system error, ExpressVu has been providing you with U.S. time shifting (NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, FOX) in Standard Definition at no charge. You will continue to enjoy U.S. time shifting in High Definition as part of your HDTV package. As of your next bill, to continue receiving the Standard Definition feed of this optional service for $1/month please visit channel 188 or call 1 888 SKY-DISH."

Is this truly a system error or a cash grab? I thought these channels were a part of the standard package, but now it looks like it will be an extra $1 a month?

This charge was always there...and nobody ever complained about it. I don't know what is the big deal all of the suddemn with it

You usually get your first feed free but if you want multiple feeds (for example, if you pick east and want west too) it is an additional $1 per month.

The charge wasn't always there. I began getting the west SD feeds when I added HD to my programming, and all I pay is the extra $10.

I wonder what my next bill will be...

Exact same thing with me. I shure as hell aint paying $1 more for another cheap Simsub!

I got my bill today.. im going to have to read it carefully to make shure im not getting charged.

Well worth the additional $1/mth if you ask me. Sounds like yuo've been lucky and mistakenly had it for free for a while. It isn't part of the package unless you pay for it. You can see this on the bell website.

Even though I have 5 PVRs, I almost always set them to record the "late" version of shows so that the evening time slot is free of recording (unless there are too many shows to catch with timeshifting.

This frees up the units for adhoc tv watching, sports etc.

With the 9200 it also means less stuttering and other problems since the unit isn't trying to record (one or more shows) as well as play back recorded content.

The charge for the US network has always been there...

That charge is for the SD extra feed

HD client do not have to pay that extra 1$/month to get the time shifting option

So people stop paniquing about your bill thare won't be extra cost if you only have it in HD

The $1 charge has been there for at least 5 years. It also included CityTV at one time so was necessary to pay $1 to get that. Some HD customers got them for free for awhile. I almost never watch the US SD nets since the US HD nets are identical (with the exception of PBS.)

This is idiotic. If we're already paying for the channels as part of the HD package why not let us have the SD versions?

I can't imagine how it would be worth $1 to anyone who already gets the HD versions. PBS is the only channel that has different programming on SD. Otherwise the only benefit is to save a little space on your PVR.

Funny thing is I had the $1 add on before I had HDPACK.

When I added the HDPACK, the CSR said I don't have to pay the $1 anymore and removed it from my bill when I added the HDPACK.

There was a mistake and clients who do not suscribe to the US network for 1$ a month got both the East and the Weat feed for the networks. The bill was only mentionning that if you do want the additionnal feed you do have to suscribe to the US network. This is also to prevent call back from people that would be unhappy that the lost the extra feed, complaining that we removed channels, that they shoudn't have gotten in the first place

If you want the time shifting option in SD you do have to pay that 1$ extra. If you only care for the HD, than no, you don't need it

Actually, as an HD viewer, I would rather NOT pay for the SD version of any channels. So I'd welcome the opportunity NOT to have to pay the $1. I don't want to pay for SD TSN, SD Showcase, SD National Geographic, SD TMN, SD MMore and SD MPix when I only watch the HD versions.

You are not paying attention to what has been written...

I'm currently getting the extra SD feeds without paying the additional $1 a month. They just showed up in my guide on my HD and SD recievers when I added the HD pack. If they start to charge me for them now, I'll politely tell them where to put them. ;)

Little wonder CSR's get a bad wrap...

The 1$ US networks will also provide you the time shifting option on the HD channels, which you won't get if you don't suscribe to US networks

Yeah, right. Like I'm gonna call EVu and ask them to increase my bill...

I get both feeds in HD. That's all I need.

That was my question (albeit not clear) This was a problem about a year ago and I had to call Bell to get it straightened out. The situation is this. I currently pay $10 for the HD pack and I get E&W networks as a part of it. As of yesterday I get the E&W feeds of networks in SD. I was told last year that I should be getting that because I have the HD pack and the SD feeds are included. If Bell changes this policy again  it will P!ss me off and (not tht I really need the SD network feeds E&W) it was a nice feature to have. If this feature is no longer available (without having to pay an extra doller) I see it as just more nickel and diming:mad:

Agent Express V, I don't know which is worse:

1) That you didn't read the first post that says: "You will continue to enjoy U.S. time shifting in High Definition as part of your HDTV package."

or

2) That as a BEV senior Customer service rep you don't understand the packages.

SensualPoet, this is an EVu forum. We don't get Showcase or National Geographic in HD. :(

Everybody makes mistakes...so do I!

The HD package includes the time shifting option... confusion came fromtha fact that we were originally told otherwise.

I correct myself...time shifting option in SD on the US network (ABC-NBC-CBS-FOX-PBS) is 1$ a month and called US network. Client had acces to it for free for a period when they shoudn't have

If I understood the packages, how do you think I manage to do a sheet with all the channels and in which theme pack they are? Sheet that by the way the hole call center now uses...
