New Rogers customers get the cool deal!

So why does Rogers do this? Punish their existing customers and give new customers the cool stuff.

New Customer gets a Pearl for 250 bucks

An existing customer gets it for 350 + 30 service fee.

So for 385 dollars you get a pearl from Robbers...
 
~via BB (wap.rabroad.com)~I am with Tmo and if I renew my contract for 2 more years I could the pearl for 250. But I am gonna wait for a while and see how things pan out. I once spent 300 dollars on a new phone only to have them discontinue the phone and release a simmalir one two months later with all the same features and half the price.
 
I JUST had my BB7100 replaced - extending another 2 yr contract with a BB7130!!!
Now I am in the same boat, hardware upgrade 350++ damn...
Maybe next year.

Too bad Rogers prefers new customers over current ones. Wait ... it's not a charity, so they can do what they like and over times new customers become current ones and would be treated accordingly... lol!!!
 
I just bought my 8100 Pearl a few weeks ago (and love it by the way) and had the same issue when I went to Rogers. Though the person you deal with face-to-face can't do anything, if you ask them who you can talk to, they'll let you call "Roger's HEadquarters" and if you whine enough, they'll give you basically the same deal as a new subscriber, you just pay the full amount and they give you rebates back on your next bill. As long as you're willing to spend 30 minutes on the phone, you'll get the "new subscriber" price.

I recently renewed my 3 three contract with a 8100 Pearl and a Moto Razr, on a family plan. Got my Pearl for $200 (discount and a mail in rebate). I've been with Rogers for 10 years. Who says existing customers don't get deals? :P

I am a long time Rogers client and mentioned this to them. I asked to extend to my current contract another three years if they would give me the BB8100 for the new customer price and they did! No questions, no hassles, nothing!

You never know what you will get until you ask for it I guess!

I work for Rogers Wireless and feel free to ask me any questions. Rogers has a special plan for it's existing customers who wish to upgrade their phone. Basicaly it works like this; customer income levels, there's 6 levels of rewards. For example, you need a lev4 for the same rebate as a new customer. That's 1500-2500 generated income. So the pricier your monthly plan, the faster you get deals for new phones
 
I have been with Rogers for about 2 years, my monthly plan hits about 40 bucks a month. Just got the Pearl for 199 with no contract renewal. I guess you luck out on who you talk to. I guess I should also mention this is my second upgrade in the last 2 years.

I talked to someone else who recently got a pearl, he managed to talk them in to $99 with a case and car charger, but apparently he went through head office or something like that.
