Hi all im a 25 year old male who has been a smoker for 11 years now and at the moment im trying to quit.

I was recently diagnosed as having anxiety disorder and it was something that for me was sudden and terrifying i have always been a self confident person up to two years ago when i lost my job and life for me has gone somewhat downhill from there.

The usual symtoms for me would be a massive boost in heart rate and a feeling of fear which was preety crippling only way i can think to describe it is deer in the headlights effect.

I have recently had bloodwork done to check and have been given the all clear and told its all in my head...But im still unsure as i now have new symtoms that only seem to vanish when im asleep and they worsen at nightime.

My new symptoms are headaches, nausea, and what feels like a constant hotness in my body everytime i cough even slightly i get a massive taste of acid in my throat im also suffering from stomach problems which include bloatedness and hotness/acid feeling., I have also noticed i sweat in one side of my palms usually the right side...and i sometimes get a slight stabbing pain in the right side of my chest at the very top, Im also getting little twinges in my heart where i can actually feel the beating of it where as before i wouldnt notice, Now its like im more aware of my body's functionality, the last few nights have been different also as im noticing if im in a heated room or around hot air i can become somewhat breathless and struggle to breath.

I have tried to force myself to cough up anything incase its throat related but all i seem to get is a large amount of clear surliva.

I have recently gone through alot of family related problems..Such as my grandad passing away on the 30th of this month and about 2 months worth of other related problems before that.
So i can understand how alot of symptoms can be stress related.
I am doing what i can to get rid of this problem i have changed fooRAB,Drank alot of water where as before i wouldnt...and i try to exercise more.

If anyone has any advise or suggestions please throw them my way.
Many thanks.
Craig.
(Sorry if this is posted in wrong area im new here).

Hi Sjb
Yeah i have had blood tests done to check for various things and got the all clear for functionality, Liver and such is all clear or so they said.

Alot of it i belive is self induced when i was working alot i used to drink alot of those energy drinks, Redbull,Relentless and such on the night i had my first complication my gf went to shop for me and bought some Irn Bru and previous to that i had bought 2 cans of red bull...I drank all the irn bru not realising at the time that it was the Energy drink type of pop so that was 2 ltrs there and then 2 more concentrated cans on top of that. So in a way its no wonder my body had palpitations with all that caffeeine flowing through me.

I spoke to a paramedic after my 2nd attack as it was intense and longer and they said its Anxiety. Not having anything like that before i didnt know what it was, I also suffered from DP (De-personalisation) For a week and half and that was horrible too, It felt like everything thats usually automated i was having to control such as breathing, Blurred vision,Feeling of floating or out of body experience.

Once i was put on prozac that seemed to make things worse i couldnt feel anything at all,Even now im having problems with my emotions in the sense i have no connections to them ive got to a point where im so low or disconnected even if i laugh or smile the usual feeling u get with it is no longer there.

I have noticed i have an elevated alertness to any kind of twinge or twitch that my body does now...Even if its something such as my stomach digesting food or my muscles relaxing when i go to sleep at night and also these symptoms seem to adapt to any kind of treatment i throw at them.
My latest ones are Pains in the wrists, pains in the chest (usually the right side),cold nurabing pain in the lower back which spreaRAB to the waist area. and alot of acidity when coughing, Yet strangely no actual mucus which i find odd considering im a smoker.

Another thing i noticed and im not sure if anyone else who suffers from anxiety or palpitations is that after my second panic attack/disorder my throat filled with a foul tasting clear liquid which seemed to clear the area's of the throat and the tastebuRAB.

Amazingly after all that and various stomach problems i havent had any signs of bleeding internally other than a light discoloration some mornings in phlegm.

I think alot of it as is they say and its something thats infested mentally within me, I have been to counciling end of october and have another appointment in deceraber 22nd to discuss my depression problems. On the physical side of things im trying to make smarter choices...No more energy drinks,Cut down on the cigs then quit, Better diet and so on.

Thanks for the reply and any new suggestions i will gladly take on board.
Craig.

Hi they say cold turkey with cigs is better because it doesn't drag out the quitting time. There are some posts that have been made about how to quit if interested.

Have any endoscopys been done?
