New Plans?

I noticed this yesterday.... This makes me mad..... I changed my plan a month ago (10.00) now I have to do it again....

On the $50 plan it has roaming... Does sms txt's work when roaming?

I have the old $50 plan and wondering if it better to save $5 and goto the $45 plan or stay at $50 and get roaming.... the only thig that would make it worth it is if txt work and doesnt cost more when im roaming...

this has been covered in multiple other posts. text works sometimes when roaming. Cricket has SMS on 2 of their 4 primary roaming partners. My understanding is that it is supposed to charge you, but does not end up costing anything (and definately works even if you have no funRAB in the flex bucket)

i changed to the new 50 dollar plan after seeing it online last month...i previously had the other 50 dollar plan and called cricket and asked about it..i was told that even though they updated their plans i was still on the one that i originally had and would have to ask to have it updated($15) and they waived that fee(i have had that fee waived about 6 times...you know us girls will complain ALOT lol)she said because i was with them for awhile that they would waive that fee for me...i'm sure some of you have been with them much longer(1yr and a half)

LOL you're welcome...glad it worked...they were going to charge my cousin the fee and she told them that she called a few minutes before and was placed on hold but the call dropped and also that the lady that she talked to then said that they would waive the fee because she was with them for so long(NOT) lol...the man then told her ok well we will waive that fee for you and is there anything else that we can help you with lol...they told me that for real but they were gonna charge her and she stretched the truth LOL if you wanna call it that but hey it worked for her too :buddies:

generally care and corp cricket will not charge as long as the migration is lateral or to a higher plan. they do not typically waive the fee if you are moving to a lower plan.

Hmmm, I Have a question about the new plans...
What is the difference between

"UNLIMITED: Features in all Cricket calling areas"
And
"Extended Calling Area"

Previously some of the plans had N/A under extended calling area when the "unlimited features in all calling areas" was checked. Now every plan you can pay an extra $5 for something.

What do I get for the extra $5?

I believe there is no difference in the two terms. They call it "unlimited features in all calling areas" on the website, but they call it "National Extended Calling Area" on your account. I guess it's easier to understand with the first phrase.

The only thing I see that is $5 extra on each account now is "Unlimited International Text".

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

It depenRAB on your market. In NECA refers to National Extended Calling Area. This is the ability to use all features in other Cricket markets.

Some markets may also have an ECA which is a roaming partner available only to subscribers in a particular market. For Example in California's Central Valley markets (Modesto/Merced, Fresno & Visalia) there is an optional ECA for $5 a month that allows unlimited usage on the SureWest network in Stockton and Sacramento. This particular ECA only includes calling, not text or data, but some may include the other features. I do not know all the different ECA's that Cricket offers, I know there is one with REVOL wireless, and there appears to be one in the Vegas market but I do not know the details on that.

There is a $5 roaming option which will give 30 minute of Nationwide roaming every month. There are actually several features that are available for $5 you'd have to be more specific, and again this may be market specific.

well not all markets have them... so it is not surprising for someone not to know about it...
before the advent of the NECA, ECA would refer to a market cluster. meaning, for instance, the individual markets of Modest/Merced, Fresno, and Visalia had an ECA option that allowed customers to travel between these markets without roaming, but we've had NECA for some time now (like 1 1/2 years or something?!?!) they also had intra market ECA in Texas, which the markets do not butt up against each other like ours do in CCV, and that is/was a major selling point against pocket... (hence the don't get stuck in a pocket advertising campain)
