divested ALLTEL to get the HTC Hero soon...as well as another blackberry...when I get more details, will share....

if anyone else has any further details, do tell...
 
While I am excited that Alltel Divested is bringing out an Android phone, I wish it wasnt the Hero. Its extremely underpowered and sense ui is not very good imo. Is the Droid a timed exclusive or just exclusive to Verizon?
 
I know things are in flux with the split of alltel, but the wait for newer phones is getting hard to take. I don't really want to jump ship and leave alltel because I've had such great service from them. It just sucks that all the other carriers have phones as much as 2 generations newer than what alltel has.

My titan/ppc6800 is almost on it's last leg and alltel currently has nothing at all appealing. :doh:

I'll probably get the Hero whenever they decide to release it, but the truth is, it will already be old tech by the time they start selling it. I just read today that Google's Nexus One (CDMA) was cleared by the FCC. Wouldn't it be nice to that that nice piece of tech on alltel's shelves? One can only dream.
 
thats exactly what im sayin! alltel thinks that they can still sell the diamond for $200 and the tp for $250. its outrageous! sprint, att, and tmo arent even selling either one anymore. and verizon is sellin them for like $50. and whenever alltel gets a new phone, theyre crappy touchscreen or messaging phones. i wish my dad wouldnt have gotten another two years with them :/
 
The Touch Pro is $99 online right now. BlackBerry Tour is $79. What more do you want? I doubt getting a bunch of new phones is the highest of priorities considering who will be taking over a majority of the divested markets.
