New Phone for Dad

Hey!
My dad is changing his awful N73 and neither of us has any idea on what to buy.

First of all, due to the unintuitive menus, any Nokia phone is out of the question.

Here's what he's looking for:
- an intuitive menu
- menu navigation should be nimble
- big, easy to read and to tap keys (preferably not a blue backlight)
- big, clear screen
- good camera
- lasting battery OOTB
- good quality, clear and loud speaker
- ease in creating and viewing calendar appointments
- a loud ringtone-speaker
- extensible memory, but should be big enough / should have a decent sized card OOTB
- bluetooth
- RDS radio is a plus
- business functions are not important, he won't be using them anyway. If they're there, they're there.
- a regular type of phone - no clam or slider, touchscreen not sure

I want a decent Linux compatibility; it's what running on the main computer of the house.

These are the main points, but I may add some others if he remembers anything else

What carrier will you use? Makes a difference in which devices are suggested.

It is Vodafone.

Oh, and since Dad travels quite a lot in remote places, the reception shouldn't be below par.
