New Palm Wireless Keyboard

UPS delivered my Palm wireless keyboard yesterday....so I loaded the software and used the keyboard for an hour or so. First, it is a really nice little keyboard, although it is just a little small for touch-type (unless you have very small hands, such as a 9 year old might have). There are some dedicated keys on the keyboard that do not work. Could not call up the calculator with dedicated key. Had no problem typing in addresses, phone numbers. The arrow keys were somewhat hit or miss. In any application I installed (3rd party software), it would not allow me to use the full screen, but always had the input area at the bottom. Of course my T3 operates in the same way. My previous handheld, a Handera 330 allowed full screen on most 3rd party software.

The only gripes I have are the hinges...they seem a little dainty...and might break if a person isn't careful. Also, when closing the keyboard, there will be pressure on the keyboard at the hinge-point. Time will tell if this causes problems. Overall, it does what it is supposed to do and am hoping Palm puts out drivers real soon.

No, I bought this keyboard from the Palm store. When I bought my TX (at BestBuy), there was no such offer. Every day I am more and more impressed with the TX and the keyboard makes it just that much easier to use.

Did everyone see the flyer from Staples? Starting on Sunday, Dec 4 through next Saturday, you can get the TX, the wireless keyboard (mail-in rebate), a hard case, and a free pack of screen protectors.

This deal is even better than the one at Best Buy. Does BB have a price match guarantee? If we take this circular into BB will they match it?

I got mine at Office Depot when the T|X came out. However, I'm still waiting for the keyboard. I did not use those screen protectors. I was told they stick too much. When the guy went to remove and replace one he all but ripped the screen out of the T|X so I have not put one on yet.
 
Well, I ordered the ******* Crystal Clear scrreen protector, and it arrived Sat. I had previously installed the included Palm screen protector, and I really had no problems removing it.

I used a pin to carefully lift up a corner of the (Palm) screen protector, and pulled it gently up, pulling at a sharp angel parallel to the screen. When I had somre resistance, I lifted and pulled another corner, slowly folding the screen protector back on itself (rolling it up, basically), as I had no intention of planning to reinstall it (in fact, I doubt you *can* reinstall the Palm included screen protector)

It came off (for me, anyways) without any problem.

That being said, the ******* protector is much easier to install, and really is crystal clear! Really love how the screen now looks (no bubbles, scratches, lint below the protector)

By the way, one benefit of having previously installed the Palm screen protector was, when I lifted it off, ALL lint came off with it! I had a prestine, perfectly clean screen to install my new ******* protector on! No need to clean the screen!

I wish you better luck with what I assume is a new generation Palm Keyboard. I bought a Palm keyboard for my T2 two years ago. The T2 plugged into a receptacle on the keyboard, which looked like it really wasn't up to the task of supporting a half pound weight. After just a handful of uses, I was mounting the Palm onto the keyboard, and the whole gizmo fell apart. I tried putting it back together, but no go. I didn't even try to get the delicate little thing replaced. I'd say be very careful with it. I hope you have better luck with it than I did.
 
I bought the new Palm keyboard. The size was OK for me (I'm a touch typist) but it took me some tries to get the hang of opening the thing (I'm a duh...). I am still baffled why some function keys don't work (I'm using the TX) - for example when I'm in Word to Go (in Docs to Go) I can't get the "home" or "end" keys to work. There are a few other things that don't work and I am using the keyboard mainly as a basic keyboard since the bells and whistles don't seem to work!
