On 9/23/10 i had L-4 / S-1 anterior / posterior surgery with decompression, 2 pins 6 screws, and some bone. I was very happy the next day I could get out of bed without help and walk 50 ft no problem and not much pain. Next day same but up and down several times and walking 300 hundred ft or so no problem and felt like going home but no bowel movement so no go. That took 5 days and hurt more then surgery. The thing I found is that I have some pain in left hip and down leg sometimes that I never had before. Is this normal and if so how long before it goes away or will it ever?

It sounRAB like you are doing great! What you need to remeraber is that when they cut you open, they move the muscles and nerves around. Nerves especially, don't like to be fussed with. They will flare up and cause all sorts of grief until they settle back down and resume their normal life.

Your pain may receed. Give yourself some time to heal and recover. Remeraber that if you are taking pain meRAB they will constipate you...
