New Nightmare on Elm Stree movie finished filming!

Cant believe how little time it took. Theres also rumours that the first picture of the new Freddie will be released at Comic Con later this month. The picture is just a rumour but they have announced they will be showing something exclusive.

I also managed to finally get my hanRAB on the script and im really impressed. This is the Freddie that Wes Craven originally had in mind and if they keep the child molesting side of the story in the film it should truly be disturbing.
Jackie Earle Haley also said a few days ago hes signed on for 3 films!


Not sure how fans of the old series will feel though. Theres an awful lot changed completely.
 
Brad Fuller said in an interview that they had wrapped filming but theres still other stuff that neeRAB done that will be done throughout next week. I can only assume he meant filming with the actors was finished.
 
How are they going to do the character of Freddy? I hope to God it isn't anything related to CGI which despite advances in technology ALWAYS looks cartoonish and rubbish
 
No one knows. What i will tell you from the script though is that Freddy isn't in it very much. It is only a draft and has been around for 2 months now so things could change. I think it will be quite good but i can see some old fans being a little confused or angry at some stuff.
 
The only thing keeping be interested in this project is JEH.His performance should be damn good and the makeup should be the most impressive since the first 2 movies.With the advancement in movie makeup,Freddy should look truly and realistically horrifying.

I'm surprised you were impressed by the script,as it's been widely condemned.The main problem is that it's very bland and the dialogue is quite iffy too.The dream sequences/kills are very unoriginal (not that we want the OTT stuff from the sequels).It also heavily follows the Hollywood teen cliches that are present in most modern horror movies (especially Platinum Dune films).

That this is being made by a first time movie director is also quite worrying IMO.
 
Like i said. because its a draft and quite old now im sure things will have been changed or improved. It shouldnt have been like the Halloween remake were it was scene for scene in some places. The whole film will be very different and be filmed differently. It is still a horror film but i believe it goes much deeper than that and my only problem would be possible sequals.
It really would be better for it to all end after the first one as the story doesnt warrant sequals. Bringing this Freddie back for sequals automatically means the series is back to square one and Freddie only exists to kill teenagers in their sleep. At least in this film there is a storyline running and we never quite know which side to be on. Freddie has a reason to exist and we're left guessing up till the final act as to what's really going on.
