new multi-media instead of smartphone...

nice forum you have here.

my LG VX-8300 still works great after 5 years, as i've used it only as a phone.

however, since i'd like an mp3 player, a voice recorder and a small casual use camera, i want to roll them all into one device instead of carrying around 4 gadgets everyday.

as well as the features above, i would occasionally use GPS, email and weather, though not daily - perhaps weekly or monthly.

i don't text, nor do i currently have need to get on the internet for anything else.

so though the Droid Incredible looks perfect, it seems silly to pay $29.99 if i'm not going to use much data/internet.

can someone tell me:

- what does the $9.99 package include as far as applications (internet? email?) as well as amount of use available (in layman's terms)?

- would a multi-media phone be good enough for what i want or am i kidding myself?

- how is the sound quality listening to music on a cell rather than separate device?

thanks for your help.

You might want to consider Verizon's Samsung Reality. My wife & I each got one a couple of months ago, and pay $9.99/mo per phone for the multimedia data package, which includes up to 25 MB data download (I kinda wanted to get a new Droid, but, like you, couldn't justify the $29.99/mo data fee). Check out the Reality at Verizon's website ... looks like it might be what you want. BTW, it does include a QWERTY keypad; I'm not a big texter, but it sure is nice to have the keypad when I do text! :smart:
