New horse Naughty or unsettled?

I bought a horse this week (Gelding) and he arrived at the stables Thursday morning. I let him get settled all day and then tacked him up for a ride. I was walking him round the field then he kept trotting off towards his stable. within a few seconds I was back in control of him again he wasn'tt bolting anywhere just a slow trot. I have been riding for 15 years. When I halted him he kept walking backwards a few steps every time.When I rode him a few times at the stables I Bought him from he was brilliant and reallylistenedd to my leg! I then let the owner of the stables get on him as she wanted to make sure everything was ok with him and he bolted with her. she managed to get control of him and dismounted. He was totally fine when I rode him at hispreviouss stables which was more than once. I have seen videos of him from the person i bought him off and he seems like a totally different horse. Is this just down to him being in a new place and everything all happening in one day? Im worried now that he will sense my fear when I get on him again (I left him yesterday so he could get used to his new surroundings) He is only 5 so he is still a baby. Any answers or any suggestions of how to get him used to me and calm would be appreciated. Thanks
