Hi all, again my post was deleted or modified. I probably put my name or something. Sorry to the moderators.
My question to those who have any opinion at all are ...
Waiting for mri but sine doc says I have a collapsed disc with the one on top of it ready to go. Plus a collapsed disc in neck. He wouldn't talk about possible tx's yet. Just wandering if physical therapy will be it or surgery. I know surgery is last option but I have been in pain for many years but disabled for 3. I have been tested for ms since I cannot pick up my feet usually. Tingling, muscle twitching pain in shoulders. The list goe on and on.
What in your opinion will happen?????
ALso can having this problem cause dizziness??? That is half my battle.
Thanks, momofboyz

Hello,

I can only speak to lurabar disc issues...don't really know much about the ones above. If you lived in the UK or Germany you might be recommended for artificial disc replacement, where your disc is removed and it is replaced with an artificial disc. This is also done in the U.S. but is less common since the FDA is still conducting clinical trials on the long-term efficacy.

Here I suppose a fusion would be suggested, probably with a cage that would be inserted to hold the space where the disc was between the two vertebrae.

I don't see what good PT is going to do at this point. Using your body differently isn't going to replace those discs that have collapsed....

Hopefully others will chime in -- I have not experienced collapsed disc personally.

Oh, about your feet --with nerve entrapment at L4-5, you can certainly have nurabness and foot drop...but usually you can still walk. Dizziness is not connected to lurabar issues, as far as I know or have read....

Good luck with your MRI. Let us know what it shows....
