Hi Everyone, so ive decided to get a fish tank and i went to Petco and saw a kit was 99 dollar but on sale for 40! This is a great price but setting it up i got some minor problems already.
First the thermometer i put on unevenly and took off and it ripped and left tape residue(took forever to clean off) but anyways ive hear good/bad things about this it came with a water heater and a aqueon filter, it is quite loud for saying (silent) i hear the motor and vibration and it is not touching the wall or anything, is this supposed to be like that?
Also i need help with what chemicals i will need to clear the tap water and make it safe for the fish, there is so many types of stuff im not sure what to buy, it is way to exspensive. Also the good bacteria that i am supposed to have in my fish tank should i buy the chemical for that or just add fish. i know there are fish that adds this bacteria but would the chemical be more beneficial?
it is a 14 gallon kit, i need to know how many fish can go into it and thinking about guppies, cat fish, tetras etc..small tiny fish.
and also how long should it take the heater to warm up the water to 75-79 F
about the filter again... how high should my water level be? and if there still be enough oxygen for the fish created by the filter with out me buying a air pump.
Please provide as much information as you can, i am a beginner to this.
