New episodes of Beavis And Butthead coming soon?

I was looking on the wikipedia entry for Frog Baseball (the short that led to the series) and I found this interesting note...
  • Judge has also hinted at the return of Bevis & Butthead for 2007 for 5 more episodes.
Anyone know anything about this?, has Mike Judge actually hinted at bringing back B&B?, because that would rule!

Yeah, that would be sweet!
I'm not sure, but Wikipedia is editable, meaning anyone can just write anything they like on there, I could write that Beavis and Butt-head will be airing all day on Nickelodeon if I wanted.
Then again it is possible, as some stuff is pretty dated in the re-runs (like all the really old songs).

Everyone may be taking Mike Judge's comments on the most recent B&B DVD set a little too seriously. He hints at a desire to bring the characters back, stating the humor could still work today.

But honestly I don't think it's going to happen.

I thought "Beavis and Butthead Do America" was supposed to be the grand finale to the B&B franchise. What good will it do to bring them back for new episodes. If Mike Judge was going to bring B&B back, he should just have them review music videos. Because, as we all know, seeing B&B review music videos never gets old.

(I so wanted to see B&B review Beastie Boys' "Intergalactic" video)

I dont think things are the same anymore. I just cant imagine artists now taking Beavis and Butt-head's comments very lightly. MTV has changed drastically.

The movie, btw, wasnt the finale to the franchise. There was a whole year's worth of new episodes that aired after the movie.

The true finale is the half hour episode "Beavis and Butt-head Are Dead" which is on the third Mike Judge Collection" set.

Way back when, MTV didn't care about offending people with their rather crass critique, but unfortunately, you can bet that Kelly Clarkson, and all the other artists that need scathing reviews would sue for slander if MTV made a crack about their video.

Attending the MTV upfront presentation in New York, Tim Stack reports that the network just announced that Beavis & Butt-Head will indeed make its triumphant return to the network. The announcement confirms previous online reports, some from creator Mike Judge himself, that MTV was working on a return of the hit series.
When will Beavis air? Executives did not say. But they did give a premiere date for the network?s TV series version of Teen Wolf. The drama will debut June 5, after the MTV Movie Awards.

I honestly, don't think this is a bad thing.
AT ALL.
Come on, with all the crappy mainstream pop music that needs scrutinizing (Justin Bieber, Kesha, Britney Spears, Gaga, etc).
Oh how Judge is ripe for a return.

Beavis and Butthead is surprisingly smart and sardonic for a show about two idiots. New episodes are quite welcome.

And as Soul noted, there's a new generation of musicians that need to be told that they suck.

It's going to be interesting to see how B & B adjust to the 21st century. Not only that, but if you recall, Mike Judge later recycled his Mr. Anderson voice into Hank Hill and got more than a decade out of that. I'm interested in seeing what happens to Anderson in the new series...

It would be great for the return of the dimwit duo, but they need to get a new girl to torment them with, since Daria left for her own show.

Another Teen Wolf reboot!? The old cartoon was fine, but MTV doing a drama take on a comedy? No Thanks!
