New Ducatista Here

*sigh*

I just found it strange that a completely innocent "welcome" thread got turned into a "grammar lesson," thats all

So, I'm a journalist!

Then you know I could sit here and spell check and copy edit the shit out of everyone on this forum for bad spelling/grammar/syntax/punctuation use. But that is not my place here, nor should it be anyone else's. Correcting someone is one thing, but flipping this shit into some barnum and bailey circus is another. Also, it is just plain played out, as this topic has been discussed on several different occasions.

I read and edit shit ALL DAY, the last thing I want to see when I come on the forum is people gorilla stomping each other over something simple like "Ducatisti/a". Save all that energy for something else, as it is clear that people on this forum, who have owned Ducatis for years, still don't know the difference between the word.

God knows I type fast and reckless, and rely heavily on my macbook to do my spell check. It's a forum, I save all that analytical shit for work.

I just wanted to say hello LOL no big deal - I look forward to learning more about the bike - The Mrs already said I can get the Pipes so that is a good thing. I am going to get some CF bits here soon.

No problem dr r2r

Just helps me reiterate my point

Hey PP51,

There are a lot of CF junkies on here with some pretty sick rides. I'm sure some of the folks here can chime in on who they are exactly.

Relax dude, we're on the same page here!

I actually get more upset at posters that go in to 'correct' someone else's language - they're fair game as far as I'm concerned.

We all type in haste, rushing our replies, so typos/spelling/syntax etc can go by the wayside. Fair enough.

I find it altogether inappropriate when internet forums become a source of mis-information (whether it's technical, historical, factual or linguistic). To that end I, like most people here, welcome the opportunity to learn from others, and give whatever information i can impart. That's the way we are all better off!

Just don't "correct" someone else with nonsense, and not expect it to be likewise "corrected".....

I agree 100% jdw My bad if it came off dickish

I guess I caught whatever flu was going around in the "sink" that gives everyone the shits Don't worry though, I just took a few chill pills

welcome and congradulations, great bike.
I wonder if it is a good idea to strictly follow the handbook when it comes to break in. I am not a mechanic but after all the articles I have read and few personal experiences I would say it makes more sense to me to use the whole rpm range in each gear for a proper breaking in of the engine. I am not suggesting abusing it, but using the whole range without hitting the redline.

Mr Mon I agree with you - when I broke in my Jap race bikes I didnt redline them out of the box but I used the whole RPM range - I was going to start riding a bit harder this week anyway - I mean the bike gets tested through all gears and high RPMs in the factory ...thanks... I think I am still just a bit Ducati shy ( just dont want her to break , even though I have 6 years or warranty)
