New Dead N93

I just got my n93 today and its dead. It keeps saying sim card registration failed. I even went to my carrier and got a new card and it worked for about 20 minutes and then the same thing.

I called nokia and now I have to return it to letstalk but they have the worst return policy I have seem. Nokia should really partner with a better company. I have to pay for shipping back and then wait about 72 hours before they send a new phone. So I am just returning the phone for credit. I am really upset about this and I don't know if I want another n93 or just get something cheaper. All the other big online retailers i have dealt with pay for return shipping on defective products I cant believe nokia won't foot the bill on something they messed up on.

I need a new phone, I like the n93 but now I have a bad taste in my mouth.

Well atleast I got to see the phone in person

have any pic of it?

Thing happend in life people win the lotery other get fail N93 phones
I hope you get your new phones asap ......... next time have test before
taking it home .... have it test for a couples of minutes not just on and off
take calls, send stuff trow BT etc etc

If you're on Cingular, it is possible that you just live in an area that is dominantly 850 and the phone just couldn't find any reception. This would result in the SIM registration failed message.

I have a friend who has tmobile. Im going to try his sim card later at work.

You know something the 850mhz thing could be the problem. Because the phone will work from time to time. Just not all the time... But I am also having problems with wifi. I have tried several access points and none work. I have tried totally open and secure points and none work.

That would make sense too because when I went to the cingular store to get a new card it was probably a different cell tower that didnt use 850mhz. Im going to try driving around and see what happens...

I hate cingular so very very much now.

Here are some quick shots of my N93. For the record it has already frozen up twice and I had to do a hard reboot to get it working again. If anyone needs the code for this just let me know. Additionally I needed to work with my Sim to get it seated properly and that element has worked fine once I "jiggled" it enough the first time.

jonny is right, when i had my n93 i kep getting the sim card error too because i'm on cingular

i couldn't make a call if my life depended on it so i sold it

This phone works fine only 2 mile from home. Im at work and I have no problem making calls and I get no errors. Maybe my house is sitting in a 850mhz zone..

I gotta say this phone is really awesome, I am totally in love with the features it has to offer. The podcasting software makes my day and may just retire my ipod. All I have to do is leave the phone charging overnight and it will connect to my home wifi at about 3 am and download all the new podcasts. I dont need to connect to the computer at all. I dont need itunes or anything its all handled on the phone.

The fm radio is great I have a satellite radio at work and it has an fm modulator. Now I can listen to howard stern without offending anyone. Just tune the n93 to 88.1 fm

Im upset about the issues i am having with cingular. I may just switch to tmobile..

Well last night it was working fine, but today I have a paperweight. I know that I did not leave it soaking in a bucket of water so I am dumbfounded...

I would suggest no one ever buy from LetsTalk again. I just called them and told them my problems and they offered to send me a shipping label and promised 72 hours turnaround time once they receive the phone. So basically I am phone-less for at least a week, and all this within 30 days of purchase. They only provide refunds within 7 days and after 30 days they won't even take my call and I have to deal with Nokia for refurbished phones or repairs. After 3 breaks in 30 days I say my phone is a lemon, and I hope that the next one doesn't have the SIM issues because I don't know if LetsTalk with just claim out of original warranty.

Given that the handset manufacturers are trying to go direct doesn't it just make sense that some good Customer Service would go a long way???

You may want to sell the rights to your philosophy class story to LetsTalk. Then they could relay how their wildly restrictive policies are actually just device that allows them to help their customers reclaim their humanity.

im going to keep the phone it works everywhere except for my house.. And I never used my cell phone at home anyway. This will keep me happy until the n95 comes out

When I went to the cingular store to get a new sim card the guy working the desk fell in love with the n93. He didnt seem to know anything about it. I figured someone who sold phones for a living should be on the cutting edge of mobile phones. But I guess he just stays with what ever cingular sells.
