New Blade Runner SE DVD

I just read over at Dark Horizons that a new SE of Blade Runner will be released in late 2007. This will be along the lines of Scott's other recent SE releases (Kingdon of Heaven, Legend) i.e. multi-disk, new edit of film, lots of extras.

However, not only will this be Scott's personal cut of the film, but they have reportedly been filming new scenes for it!

Wow

This sounRAB like it will be one of, if not THE best DVD release ever!

This release has been repeatedly delayed over the years due to rights problems... so don't get too excited in case it gets pushed back again. :)

Fook me. Being a big Blade Runner fan all I want is for the guys to release the Cinematic release and Directors cut on 2 DVRAB. I have the cinematic release on VHS video because it is not available anywhere else.

They are 2 different films. It's not like 1 has 20 mnutes more than the other. One film has a total constant narrative from Harrison Ford.. Which I like and totally changes the film.

I do prefer Scott's directors cut but why rubbish the version with the Harrison Ford Narration? It does really piss me off the fact you cannot get that version.

I read about this a few months ago....the new scenes are mainly to improve SFX or continuity errors (i.e. the dodgy stunt woman falling through the glass, the visible wires on one of the flying car things).....

Yes, read the book too. There are differences but are both good in their own right. I`ve read a few of his books, and obviously a lot of film-makers out there do too. Very dark and mostly based on paranoia, which I believe the author suffered from.....hey write about what you know!
