I just purchased a 2006 C50 yesterday and it is smooth. I have been riding a 25 year old Virago and wow what a difference.

I am looking forward to many rides.

I did not get a owners manual or service manual with the used bike so I guess I will be asking a lot of questions and doing a lot of searches.

My new bike has 1400 miles on it but I do not know which service has been done.

I live in SW Florida so if anyone has any ideas or suggestion about maintenance or enjoyment please respond....

It is a bare silver bike so I have a clean slate.

Thanks
Rod Robbins

:welcomes: and congrats on your new ride.

I would change the oil and filter right away.

Attached is the maintenance schedule for the Canadian 2007 C50, should be the same for American C50s.

Also go to link below and scroll down the page, you'll find a link to M50 manual [as far as i know, M50 is mechanically identical to C50, but the styling is different]. Be sure to browse other info there, you'll save a lot of time.

Good luck and safe rides!

welcome :)

the m50 is the sister bike to the C50 and there are many of us here that have those.. lotsa c50/m50s around...

suggestions? ride often, ride safe :)

The bike is pretty easy to maintain. Along with the oil being changed right away I would also probably change the rear differential fluid. Both easy do it yourself jobs. I would do it since you have no idea if the first 600 miles service was ever done. Mod's are pretty easy, I lowered mine 2 inches, debaffled it, lowered the license plate and removed the rear seat among other stuff. Enjoy the bike.

2 years old you might want to change the spark plugs. Some people ride until the tank is about empty so you do not have fuel slooshing around when you remove the tank
