What a site! ran into your site a few weeks ago, really have been debating on this surgery but decided to go on ahead w/ it, 1 am 42 having PLIF for L5/S1.....at least this is what is on my paperwork. I continue to have excruciating pain, definately tired of it, have had it off & on for over 20+ years, just in past year gotten to be intolerable. It went from 1-2x a month to now constant, just never know how bad...i have of course good days & bad days...my surgery is scheduled for Wed.....i am terrified, but have been praying deeply! I am a real active person, at least until this year.... i cannot sit still so i know this is going to be hard for me....as well as i am a clean fanatic...cant stand floors dirty, dishes in sink, yes!! & it is just me & my hubby...so pray for me, i am going to hopefully get thru this grt, back to when i was in my 20's.....just dont want to keep gaining weight & not being able to do my yard work or my house designs......pray for me! i am adding this site to my laptop tomorrow so i will have it set up & ready.....thanx Cathy

Thanks for the reply, i sure hope things go well with you as well, i did have the surgery, the pain was horrible, unlike any other i had in the past..thank God those first 3 days r over, i had not even thot about getting back online until just today, i was feeling so grt the first part of this week, i decided to try to drive, did well, so of course thot i wasdoing wonderful, when i was actually doing rough...the pain meRAB were masking the actual pain...i actually dropped to only 1 codiene in morn & 1 at nite...i actually overdid it when Tues i deccided to go to Sams myself to get groceries...wore me out! long story short, my husband wanted me to go to Lowe's w him to help pick out paint for his shop, got there arount 10 30, was still there at 12, i finally said i need to go rest i am exhausted. i had to take another pain pill when i got home, then couldnt hardly get out of bed the rest of the day...anyhow, i am now relaxing, letting things go...i am tired of cleaning anyhow, i know i wont run out of laundry,,,my husband will just have to do his own...he doesnt actually understand that i can hardly bend over, & when i use my knees they hurt like they r rubbing bone to bone, thats the last thing i want to happen, anyhow, watching my church online now...am taking much time out needed...no longer rushing myself, i gotta get better b/c i see my dr Wed...have followup mamagraghm on Monday,, not sure about that they also want to do ultra sound on L breast, they say it is probably nothing...guess we will see!

You sound just like me with the cleaning!! I LOVE LOVE to clean and its really gonna be hard for me as well when I have my TLIF surgery on the 28th...oh my thats 9 more days!! I am terrified!! I have heard alot of things on these boarRAB though to prepare me some on what to exspect when waking up or with the first few days and weeks of recovery. Doesnt sound like too much fun. I wish you the best of luck and try to keep posting so we know how your doing!! Ill keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!!

And standing, lifting, etc. is also a no no as you can do a lot of damage to your new surgery, and possibly cause more things in other places. Glad to know you are taking it easy now and I hope it isn't too late.

Behave yourself now, and listen to your doctors orders. I really don't want you to end up in more pain, bless your heart.

Sorry guys for not checking in frequently...of course when i got to feeling better i got myself very busy...hope all went well with the surgery Sue! Well it has been now let me see the surgery was sept 1st...i rly thot i was going great until last wk the dr's nurse had me to come in and p/u a 'bone stimulator'...thot i was going crazy until i did some online looking..but anyhow it is now killing me again...now i am having shooting pains down my R leg again, even my R kneecap feels like it keeps locking up, if it is so that i have a groin area...(pelvis) i continue to feel aches like a headache there..they have me wearing it for 4 hrs a day...& cant take it off, have to wear continually...i didnt think it was doing anything, just thot i was having u know a lil overdoing it...until it now isnt stopping...i have my last wk of PT, go in at 1p today & then thurs....they said they were going to let me go & just tell me somethings to do @ home...well that was b4 this bone stim thing...dunno, sure dont want this to agrivate & make things back to where they were, anysuggestions???
