New BB Messenger Upgrade icon

anyone on Rogers get this icon on their phone? I already have 5.0.0.8, is this upgrade a better/new build then I already have.
 
I'm not on Rogers, but there are quite a few nice improvements over the beta with the new official release. I highly recommend it.

I had it on my berry. Didn't even noe it was there. I click it and it automatically back up and installed BBM5.0 for me. Pretty seemless transition.
 
I like it but it doesn't have the proximity detector and I find the groups seem to use up a lot of the battery when you are getting lots of posts, anyone else find that?

I found that out too. Some groups have endless chats and get annoying after a while......Probably just me. The other thing that I find is that we can't preview pictures sent over BBM before deciding to keep it or delete it. YOu have to save it, find the pic and delete it if you don't want it.
 
Yeah, my battery life has gone down since I installed bbm5.0.

And I cant stand the fact the person has to choose to accept the file (pic, voice note etc), and then you have to save it to view it. Hopefully they change that.
 
Altho I just switched to OS 4.0.0.235 and now I've got MUCH better battery life.
 
For what it's worth, there will be another maintenance release 5.0.0.52 (as opposed to what's currently available 5.0.0.33) that improves upon a few things mentioned here.

Be on the watch for it in the coming weeks.
 
my biggest issue with BBM5 is the picture management. I hope you can preview pics before downloading them, with the new release
