new army wife in 2 months with questions?

i have some last minute questions before i become a army wife.first one is.we are getting married in june of course.and we wanted to make my name change before i am added into the military system and do it can be on my id.but my issue is,what if we marry,then get our certificate and take it up there.then add me?will they put my soon to be name on the id and in the system without me notifying the social securit administration?my original plan was to go to the ssn office and change me name,wait for the card to come back then go to the nearest post and have me added into the system.but also i am wondering if when you change your name can u just use that paper they give you that shows you have applied for a new change and name change.and take that on post for your id with your new name?or does the marriage certificate we are mailed from our county automatically put my new marriage name on there and my old one too?since we will apply with my old name of course?what is best to do?we are not having a wedding.just going to the court,our idea and preference.then waiting for the correct info to come through in the mail (our county in missouri makes you wait for it to be mailed after you marry) to put me in the military system.my fiance and i are just trying to figure out the better ideas.so if there is a wife that knows what is better and what we can do to have my name change done and without having to wait for ssn to mail my card,please help?cause he only has a few weeks here before i go with him to pcs to his new duty station.and i really dont want to have to wait.but if need be it i will.or i can wait until i get to our new post and do everything.but we want to do it before we drive up to the post,so we can get on the housing list from my hometown,and in hopes to get a place when we get there.we planned on having the post here in missouri add me into the system,then get a hold of housing withg his orders and put us on the list from there.im all nervous and want everything to go correct.we have put so much into our new move there,and getting ready,that i dont want anything to slow us down or mess us up.please SOS someone help me!!!LOL.

When he is processing in he doesn't need your paperwork to have the name change on it. He can the certificate, your birth certificate and the original SSN to the personnel office and have you entered into DEERS. you should get more than 1 copy of the marriage certificate so if there is a delay in getting it back to you or you receiving it back then there is no delays.

The marriage certificates usually have your maiden name on them, it doesn't mention the married name it is up to you if you want it or not.

Once he is married he will need to have his orders amended to add you to them or they will not pay for your transportation there or the household goods (HHG)

Housing will not always allow him to go onto the housing list right away, some will require him to report there first before doing it. Because the orders can be changed at the last minute.
