New Amp Or Distortion Pedal?

Ive been playing guitar for around 2 years now. Im 14 So Money is an object. Right now I have a squire Bullet strat which works great for me right now. But the amp is a shitty little crate amp that would be fine except it has no distortion settings. When I get some cash should I get a new amp or just a pedal?
