New Aerize Wifix (POST HERE IF IT ISNT WORKING)

What's up guys. Been following the old thread and this one for a while.
Now I have a Verizon Tour. I got Weather Eye working but cannot get Google Maps to work. I've added the hostname somebody posted for it but still no luck connecting.
I'm curious. Can anyone tell me how they come up with the different hosts for the apps?
The one in particular I'm looking for is the BB Scanner app. It may be that I'm missing a hostname on it.
Thanks.

Checo346,

To find hostnames set the particular app's internet access permission to "prompt" which will make your phone reveal what site(s) the app is trying to connect to. As for google maps, everything you need is found in the first 3 or 4 pages of the two Wifix threads.

For over a month my Shangmail stopped working and was always giving the "Network error" message. I stopped those messages by selecting "Pause" from the main menu. Nevertheless when I "resumed" the messages started again. I then re-installed Shangmail and tried to login but got the network error messages again so that I could not login. Knowing I had the correct username and password I decided to re-register by clicking on "Register" from the shangnail menu. It went through without a hitch. Login went through immediately after that. Now it works properly again

my shangmail was like that too i just paused it and would check it every other day, it started back up this week, and now is back to normal.

I see people are getting the blackberry maps up and running on here. I have been pulling my hair out to get some kind of gps running. I think vz is blocking the other apps from seeing the gps, but bb maps is getting a fix. It's just not downloading the map data. I think I'm missing something in the wifix settings.
The three hosnames that were already in wifix for the bb maps are:

maps.blackberry.com
maps422.blackberry.com
poi.blackberry.com

And yes I altered the request format. Am I missing something?

I have been able to get a few things working by setting the application permission setting for internet to prompt. It will then ask you for permission every time the app tries to connect to a different host name.

I ended up getting google maps up and running. I had to write a version of sprint os onto my old vz 8730e to get through to the gps. At least I'm guessing that's what got it going. The bb maps still does not downlaod any map data, but I suppose you have to belong to their sevice or something.
