New 999 owner Questions

Hi all,

I have just brought a 2005 999 with 13 000kms on the clock. I'm new to Ducati's and just wanted your opinions on a few things.

The bike had its 10000 /2 year service at 5500km in late 2007 (Belts were replaced). This mean's its due for the 20000km / 2year belt change and service -

I will change the oil and filter as soon as it arrives.
Do I really need to change the belts again?

It is still on the original chain/sprockets. As the chain is 4 years old is it worth replacing this also?

Congrats on the 999 (love em btw) word on the streets is that yes you should replace the belts every two years because of potential deterioration/degradation. Or so I've heard...
