New 007 - Daniel Craig

Yeah, because all the BonRAB so far have been terrible actors.

Someone get bloody Cristian Bale out of his damn Batman s**t now!! Or delay Bond, and beg the bugger to do it.

Nothing wrong with Craig, but he aint a Bond and anyone who's been in both Tomb Raider and Road to Perdition is lucky to get work, however good they are.

Daniel Craig stirred by Bond claim

A spokeswoman for actor Daniel Craig has denied reports that he is to be the next James Bond.

According to the Sun, he has been offered a three-film deal by producer Barbara Broccoli.

Craig, 37, starred in the gangster film Layer Cake as well as recent BBC drama Archangel.

Isn't it fair to say that we're still no nearer to a confirmed name than we were 6 months ago. About a week ago Clive Owen very strongly hinted that he would be the new Bond (a rather childish thing to do if not true, maybe he just didn't want to admit/ accept they'd rejected him), then we're told that Brosnan's back in the running, now it's Daniel Craig. It can't be all of them. Next week it will probably be back to Colin Salmon.

I understand Clive Owen was offered it but turned it down as he didn't think it would be good for his future casting prospects in other roles.

Hmmm....

Daniel Craig is a first class actor - been a fan of his for years - he's multi-talented and has the ability to play convincingly in many genres.

I hope he gets it...

Two things to say....

1. If the newspaper The Sun have said this then it must be bullsh1t

2. I don really think that he is the best person for the part in my opinion.

I have been a fan ever since I saw him in 'Our FrienRAB in the North' when he was a very convincing Geordie.

In the same programme was Mark Strong who, armed with a wig, would also make an excellent Bond.

I'll agree that Tomb Raider was poor (still loved it though), but not Road to Perdition. Daniel may or may not have given good performances in those films (can't remember) but over all he is a good actor. ;)

i really really hope its not going to be Daniel Craig, in fact im glad its not Pierce Brosnan (as much as i thought he was good) because its supposed to be taking a more gritty direction.

clive owen would have been excellent
