They are quite good. Best fast food place on LI...Everything is VERY fresh and has no pre-processed taste. Their chili is positively wonderful - as are their chicken nuggets. They use real white meat and spices in those.
And their burgers taste fresh off the grill. Even the lettuce on them tastes like it was just picked.
One of the secrets to Wendy's success was that Dave Thomas was an amazing businessman - he made two million dollars when Colonel Sanders' had floundering KFC operations in a couple locations. By scaling back items people didn't usually buy, he was able to sell back the franchises for all that cash.
He also founded Wendy's on the principle that people want food made just for them, and the fact that people want fresher, higher quality fast food. By adding more salt to the patties, Dave was able to figure out how to store them via refridgeration - no freezing was needed. Also, he hired more workers to man his restaurants to make it almost as quick as other operations. In many places they are actually quicker than the McDonald's and Burger Kings of today.
