Okay, here is the name of the neurosurgeon I had in mind:

Frank Moore. He has offices in New Jersey and Manhattan. He's very smart and came highly recommended.

Can anyone here please recommend a neurosurgeon in the NYC area? I need one for my bf who has increased pain after 4 back operations plus now he has nurabness in his feet that wasn't there before the surgeries and its getting worse. Thanks.

Lynne

Pepper, Camissa is an orthosurgeon and we are basically done with them. We did try to make an appt with him and he wanted us to use on of his other doctors so we passed on it.

Jen, thanks for the recommendation. I really appreciate it.

Lynne,

I have recommended this before but will say it again, if your bf wants to try a different path at some point I highly recommend Prolotherapy. It is injections into muscle and joints, wherever needed, of a natural glucose substance that actually builRAB cartilage, reduces pain and promotes healing. I have been able to actually forgo surgery because of this and I had a very serious back problem. I have a great doctors name for that as well should you be interested.

All the best. I know how frustrating back issues can be.

Yeah, Jen has a point. The other option seems worthy of research. Surgery should be if all else fails. I believe I may have rushed. cant stress this enough; get second and third opinions....

Hey, I'm new here. I'm not exactly sure what we can and cannot post here. I just had a procedure done AFDC C5-6. I think my doc was okay although it probably really is too soon. His resume is pretty impresive.

I went to the hospital Tues. morning, home on Wed., today is Sat. dealing with some pain stiffness and in good spirits.

p.s Get a second opinion. I didnt and am regreting this.

Jen I would definitely be interested in this treatment and would really like a recommendation. I don't want my bf to have anymore surgeries if they aren't necessary. They haven't worked to ease his pain and made his symptoms worse so anything other than surgery that could help, would be a blessing.

Thanks so much,
Lynne

Hi Lynne,

There are MD's in Manhattan and New Jersey who do Prolotherapy but the one recommended to me is in Connecticut. His name is Perry Perretz. I groaned when I thought about schleping there but it's really a simple metro ride there and back. They pick you up at the train station. I can't vouch for the other docs who do this but if the trip is out of the question I'm sure you could find someone nearer to you.

Best,

Jen

Lynne,

Have you tried Casmissa?

I am so sorry you boyfriend is still suffering so much. I pray that 2009 will be his year to find some relief from this misery.

Hugs and Happy New Year! You are the best!

Pepper
