The wii is fucking awesome...and i love this machine... hard to beat nes though, for what it stood for and all the great games...


but for the Wii taking 2nd
 
NO SIR! you are wrong about that one. the nes is the basis of all that is video games.

plus there was contra and balloon fight
 
This is just the launch though... We cant really talk about which console is superior when its just been out for a few days.

The launch has been fucking incredible though.
 
I believe Wii deserves first, because it plays games of all the other systems via Virtual Arcade w/ a classic controller, and GameCube just normal.
 
Kids today are spoiled with their high definition graphics & whatever. What are their first systems today for kids younger than me...SNES, Genesis, even a PS1.
I remember when I first opened my NES & played Mario Bros. & Duck Hunt. That was fun. We only had two buttons, B & A with a crappy directional pad in a rectangular controller. Or my original Gameboy, the thing was huge and had shades of gray with crappy battery life.
Until the younger ones know about blowing into the NES cartridge until you pass out, or jamming another NES cartridge on top of the other when putting it into the NES...I don't really care for your opinion on the 360, PS3, or Wii
 
I got an NES for christmas when I was 5 (well, it was for "the kids", i had never even heard of NES ) and I've been hooked on video games since
NES will always be my favorite simply because it's what got me into games, though in terms of fun, I probably enjoyed SNES the most. Wii has the potential to pass up SNES though.
