as far as the angio goes with possible nerve damage? i have had like 5? angios done now and a coiling procedure done for my found anuerysm at this point and never had ANY nerve damage issues? i am wondering about that clot you had? are you certain that that actually was taken care of? the one 'possible" here is that you very easily 'could have" had an underlying spinal/nerve issue that just became much more symptomatic when you were simply forced to lie on that table(kinda hard as i recall) and THAT, trust me here, could have actually kind of triggered off any underlying problems esp within that lower back area? it is simply that posistion that you are forced to even lie in with no pillows really allowed at least under that leg that they are using the femoral in? it does stress that lurabar alot more than you would even think too?
most people who actually have any level of real underlying spinal crap goin on that has not yet 'shown itself' with any real symptoms only neeRAB that 'trigger" or catalyst to set off alot of sudden symptoms that can be either motor or sensory since we just do have what are actual 'pairs' of nerves on each side of the spinal cord/column at each and every vertebral level once you get beyond c 8 nerve level and then START T 1? as opposed to the c spine that actually carries only ONE single nerve on each side of every level that has "multi use" as both a sensory and a fine motor nerve up there at only the c spine related particular levels. the thing is tho, up in that c spine area, the sensory innervation which can be found in any dermatome chart does NOT actually match up the motor part. very strange up there and kind of nonsensical too, but thats the way only that c spine just is.
but where you are talking here exactly would be within that lurabar level and does have both that one sensory and one motor nerve too on each side at every vertebral level(pairs of nerves vs the one on each at the c spine levels do), so its kind of a matter or tracking back the area where you are having the pain(sensory nerve) to the approximate level of the spinal? just looking at any good dermatome chart that you can very easily find on the net with a simple "dermatome chart images" search would show you exactly what level of the spinal is innervating the area where you are having the pain at(if your pain does NOT actually run within any given dermatome kind of within ITS margins, that would indicate another possible source OTHER than spinal that could be generating your actual pain?)?
just an FYI here for ya too? the "psoas muscle" actually runs from the very low back area kinda at right into where the buttocks start and DOES wrap itself around(the hip but angled) TO and thru that groin area? i only know THAT one since i happen to have a cystic disease of the kidney that actually created two cysts right IN that stupid muslce too, and believe me, it DOES show itself in many ways when it wants to. i have the buttock pain but also have pain right in that groin too that does many times also migrate over to the L side(this whole thing is on my L side) where it actually creates what feels like actual pain in my L ovary too? very strange. but THAT is that muscle that runs thru your groin area.
just myself having sooo way too many angiograms and where that femoral artery that they place the initial cath into is like right there and very close to the surface? i really would not think of THAT as something that would be the most 'common' thing that would be generating real nerve pain there? but that IS simply my own opinion knowing what i have had done there and what has been the "after effects" from many repeated angios actually being done on both femorals since i now have RSD in my R side so we do NOT stick anything into that R side anymore? but also depending upon the overall knowledge and experience of your own neurointerventional radiologist who performed this on you too does play a big part here too? but finding out from at least obtaining a doppler ultrasound if that clot actually finally left(or possible scar tissue being there too) and then possibly also getting that low back area MRIed just to really 'see' into that spinal all the way down to the nerve root and spinal level would be my best possible suggestion as to trying to really track that pain back to the real underlying generator.
while ANYTHING is always possible as far as that angio creating issues for you, other things would simply be the 'more likelys' here that really just DO need to be more deeply tested and at least cleared or included in the 'whys' of your particular pain even being there right now. honestly? the one huge thing i have learned over like the past 11 years in simply finding out the insane things i had in my body and my sons too that we did NOT have a freaking clue were even there. no one truely just 'knows' with any real certainty just what the heck can actually even be goin on within their own bodies til things start to present themselves with symptoms, or something just suddenly pops up on a scan you are having for something else?? had both happen to me and my youngest. but i would seek out at least your primary at this point just to obtain that referral for the MRI to be done on at least the lurabar. its just where anyone should really start with some pretty baseline type testing that can really much more deeply either rule certain things in or out as possibles.
just what did you have to have that angio for? hope all was well with that hon. Marcia
