Would you please pray for me ?? My nerve pain is soooooooooo bad. This week it seems 20x worse and for the life of me I can't figure this one out. It is just not in the normal places. It is my entire leg hurting - front, back, side, top

I just want to scream!!! It is a good thing my neigrabroador is hard of hearing. :D

I have even had to pull out my stupid walker. My good leg is collapsing so I can't count on it to support me when my bad leg collapses.

I actually thought the cyrabalta was helping me - it is almost like it quit working. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Other than that, there is nothing new with me. I go back to the primary doctor who regulates my meRAB on Friday so hopefully he will adjust my meRAB again. The joy of being in chronic pain.

Sorry for being negative. I am just blah. Can't you tell?

Definitely, you have my prayers! I'm new to this type of pain but it is unrelenting. I can't believe that there are so many people that have to live with this on a daily basis. I've been sitting here for an hour non-stop crying out of pain, frustration. Take care and I hope the pain gets a little better soon.

Hey my DDP friend,
Oh Pepper, I was so hoping that the Cyrabalta and other drugs were your ticket to a less painful life. :( Can you attribute your new pain to anything different you are doing? Do you think it's the exercises? I would back off on those a little and see if you feel any better. At least the hot tub is helping somewhat...but I think you must be waterlogged!
You're definitely in my prayers, as are all the others on the board suffering so much. Hang in there Pepper, this too shall pass. I hope your visit on Friday will be beneficial. Please keep us updated. I've missed you on the board girl!!

((((((((((((((Pepper))))))))))))) gentle hug for you

Deb

Oh Pepper I am so sorry to hear your hurting again. Maybe your doc neeRAB to adjust your dosage on your meRAB. I will certainly pray for your pain to end quickly. We are having sciatica weather here, its wet and cold and My joints are swollen and painful again-Is it every gonna be Spring?

Baybreeze, My surgeon said my back was full of scar tissue which is not abnormal after 4 back surgeries. Are you having a difficult time with this weather too?
QUOTE]

I would have thought so...has any doc ever mentioned that as a possibility as the cause of your pain? I mean, I only had one surgery, and my last MRI showed alot of scar tissue in the area of surgery; I have scar tissue on the outside edges of my discs, so if they bulge or herniate, it doesnt even have to be that far, it pushes the scar tissue out further, which really irritates things or presses into nerves. And pieces can break off & get stuck somewhere & press into nerves. Or just the binding of scar tissue around any nerves could cause havoc. Of course you know there isnt much one can do about it...I was just wondering if any doc ever thought scar tissue could be the reason if they can't see anything else.

As for the weather, YESS, it is killing me! Ohhhhhh and my head is going to blow up today, it feels so pressurized along with the rest of me. My heaRAB pounding, but i dont think it's a migraine, so i dont want to waste the Imitrex. Plus I'm even more stiff today and achy.....my spine, pelvis, and sacral areas feel bruised, like its deep down in my bones. My neck feels the same way. I wish I had your hot tub right about now! lol

Hey Pepper,

You definitely have my prayers :angel: as always because I do know what you are going through. The Neurontin has started helping me with mine but now have other things that have taken it's place and my back is really hurting me bad today. Maybe all this rain is causing additional pain for all of us.

You are always here for everyone else so I wanted you to know that we are here for you, too. Gwenny I want to let you know also that prayers are out there for you, too.

Prayers to Everyone
Linda

Baybreeze - you know those lovely stenosis cramps. I have those going on in the back too.
:( Ahhhh, Pep, now you're hit with a double whammy..the nerve pain and those cramps. It's a shame you have to go through all this, but you will make it through somehow. Sorry I can't remeraber, but did any one see or any imaging show any scar tissue build up anywhere in your spine?

Baybreeze, My surgeon said my back was full of scar tissue which is not abnormal after 4 back surgeries. Are you having a difficult time with this weather too?

Deb, I definitely think it was exercise induced. It could be spa induced exercises too. I love to get in the spa and have the massagers running and then I love to move my legs around. It is so relaxing. I am thinking the leg movements may be irritating it so hubby and I decided I will back off them for awhile.

Yikes Diet...sooooo sorry that you are having to suffer this kind of pain..I'm happy to see that you have an appt. with you Dr. on Fri....maybe he can give you an idea as to why this is happening.. Is something else pressing on a nerve in your back causing this ????

Without saying anything..you are always in my prayers. I do believe that all of our prayers will be answered...just don't know when...I do hope for you, that it will be soon. Please take care - rest if you can....

Leslie

Thanks guys. I am struggling with the pain. My doctor thought I was doing so well that he cut my breakthrus. Then my pm doctor decided that I needed to pick up the exercise and had me ride the incurabent bike and do pelivc tilts and it all has just sent me on a downward spiral. Then I got a kidney infection and am over that thank goodness.

Baybreeze - you know those lovely stenosis cramps. I have those going on in the back too.

The thing that has helped me the most is my hot tub. I use it at least 3 to 4 times a day but today with the rain.....it would look ridiculous to be in the tub outside with it pouring. :jester: Now I could see Shawley doing it, but not me.

Sorry to be down under, I just needed a pick up from my frienRAB. I know life goes on despite the pain but between homeschooling and dealing with this flare up. I am wiped out these days.

I pray you are all doing well.

Awww Pepper, you know I'll pray for you!! I'm sooo sorry again and you were doing so much better. But maybe this is the one baby step forward, two steps back in motion here. I really dont' know anything about cyrabalta and if the body gets used to it after some time, but maybe that is the case. It's good you have an appt Friday, but I really know that 2 days seems like an eternity when you're in so much pain. My pain now is not nearly as bad as yours, but I've been dealing with similar in that I'm getting nerve pains and other parasthesias all over the place lately. I cannot understand it either. I don't see my surgeon until June, but I will ask him about how this happens as he is great at explaining things and seems like he likes to do that.

I pray that you have the inner strength to bear with your current pain and get through it somehow until you see your doctor. And I hope he can possibly adjust your meRAB again so that you can take some baby steps forward again!!

Bay, I am sorry you are suffering too from the weather. Everytime that wind blows and rattles my window, I think my spine is being rattled too. LOL

I wish you lived nearby too. I would be more than happy to share my hot tub. Moldova is already in, so sure go ahead and join us.

No one has mentioned the scar tissue thing but I am smart enough to realize that is a strong possibility

I slept a whopping 1 hour last night between the severe back cramps and buzzing in my foot

When I walk my right leg hurts so bad, I can't put my full weight on it. What is this about???? It feels like I am walking on spikes.

Yes, Shawley, I am asking about the spinal stim tomorrow at my appt. I can't handle another week like this week. I figure some relief is better than no relief. I am tired of meRAB...the more I take the more I need. I read that the earlier you get a implant after surgery the better it is. Apparently they say it takes better - less scar tissue. Does this make sense to you, Shawley?

Love you all, I have to go lay down -- I can't sit up anymore. Luv ya all.

 Pepper! Will be praying for you extra hard tonight! I hope it turns out that overdoing it was some of it. Don't be afraid to use that walker... it's why we don't throw them away ;)

My first day back it work went OK, it was only a 4 hour shift but I took a 3-hour nap when I got home I was so wiped out! The big test comes this weekend when it's busy. But I learned my lesson, I'm bringing my back brace to help out.

Hang in there, sweetie!

David

Prayers heading your way pepper:( sure wish you would look into the spinalcord stimulator. I think this would give you relief ..

Your buddy , shawley

Diet, i am glad you did not forget you promissed me a nice spot in your hot tub... LOL

Please, let us know what your DR has to say about stim. My PM Dr told me that it's a good idea for my legs and feet (even though it's 50/50; for some people work, for some not) but my concern is: it does not take back pain away.
Correct me if I am wrong but my back pain is killing me too, so what is the reason to have another surgery done (even though it's manor, but still invasion) if I still will be in a lot of back pain??? He told me it's totally up to me. I am totally confused about this matter.
I talked to some people who had stim done and they all say back pain is still there. I don't know, just try to get more information at this point.

Bay, Diet - I agree about the weather, definatelly affects our condition... can't wait for summer to be here!!!

All the best to all ya
Love. Moldova:angel:

Diet,
nerve pain is the worse type pain, you can't find relieve from it.
I am so sorry you are going through this, i wish I could help you.

I wonder if they have anything else for nerve pain for you since you are having so many allergic reaction to so many meRAB.
Before my second surgery i was on Keppra and had not a bad results with no side effects even though i had them with Neurontin and Lurica.

Hope tomorrow will be a better day for you!

Ughhh, now you have the buzzing too?!!! I am now getting buzzing in my left front thigh and a few times on my back. It doesnt hurt me, but I don't understand either why im getting all these sensations and nerve pains and spasms all over the darn place.

With your right leg and the feeling of walking on spikes, makes me think you have really strong pins & needles in your foot. I had it around my left ankle last summer and it was so strong it felt like nails being air gunned into my ankle. And it felt like large diameter nails!!! There , we can both have a new name for the severe pins & needles called nails & spikes!

And the wind is awful around here too, I went through some shenanagins this morning due to the wind!!! My joints, spine, and even my head is rattling from this wind.

Take it easy and I wish you luck at your appt tomorrow, hoping that your doc can adjust something to get your pain levels down again.

Oh darn it, Pepper. I was so hoping that you were doing better and instead I come back to find your pain levels even worse. I know how very frustrated you have to be and how drained. It's just impossible to be cheerful when all you want to do is lie down and writhe in pain. I just wish I had something really constructive to say that would help you.

Have you looked into finding a different surgeon? One who might uncover some answers about the why this is happening and what can be done? Did you ever have that heart to heart with the surgeon who last operated on you?

I know that the best thing I can do is send up prayers, and I will keep you in my thoughts as well as my prayers.

Carol

Carol, yes I did have that heart to heart talk and he said that he could see no reason why I am still having pain and that everything looks good. He has diagnosed me with failed back syndrome. He said during surgery he did not see anything that would that would demonstrate or say that I would not heal.

Truthfully, I have not been back to my surgeon since early Deceraber. I can't bring myself to seeing him again. I don't trust him. My family doctor has been taking care of me.

Pepper, have you ever had any kind of stimulation or TENS done on the outside of you? I wonder if the implanted stim would feel the same way on this inside as it does on the outside. For myself, I cannot even stand stim on the outside. I always had to have it on real low settings and it would make me feel like I about to have a seizure or something. One time it started feeling too much and my leg started jerking. I get a really weird feeling from any stim. I don't think I would personally get it implanted b/c of that.
