I had pain like a toothache in my spine, whic stayed for a couple of weeks, then it went into my left arm, the neurologist couldn't get any reflexes from that arm. It seemed to have quieted down. Now today I have nerve pain in buttock and down front of leg. The doctors were checking for infection or a herniated cervical disk. Could that cause all this?

Yes. It can cause all this. I am so glad to hear that someone else describes back pain like a toothache. That's the only way I can describe it. Although I have had several surgeries, my pain is like yours. I have Degenerative Disc Disease and so does my father. He has issues with his arm also. He has lost the full use of his arm because he waited so long to get it checked and eventually had to have surgery. I hope things get better for you.

Thanks for your reply. I know they were checking for infection also as I was close to someone who has MRSA, the superbug. They said they found something in the bloodwork, so i have to go in today to find out what exactly they found. Personally though I think it has something to do with disks, since the top of my back was swolllen and sore to the touch.

Went to the doctor. Blood test shows inflammation or some sort of infection somewhere, but they lost my x-rays before they could be scanned into the computer. So now I have to find the original set of x-rays, and went today for more x-rays of more of the spine.
