Nerf stampede voltage mod?

I want to mod my stampede to have a little more power but a much faster rate of fire i already have the materials for a 18 volt mod but i dont vant to over power it and burn out the motor. Is it possable to mod a stampede to 18 volts not just 12-16? I have expirence with eletrical wireing
