I just got some new Neon Tetras this week. I got 3 of them 2 days ago and another 5 yesterday. Yesterday, they were schooling together all nicely. They did a little occasional nipping at each other but still schooled together. They are the only fish in my 20 gallon tank. It's at 78 degrees atm, but I'm going to raise it down to 76 tomorrow, Possibly 74 on my next water change, But after school, I noticed that they all separated and aren't in a school anymore. And if one gets too close to another, they start to nip or chase the others. Sometimes for no reason at all. Why is this? Will they start schooling together again? I wanted to put in a giant male plakat betta but now I'm thinking they'll stress him to death.
