can anyone help me with the following chem qns, its practice quuestions for my upcoming exams on monday! please help asap,
1. Using DG = DH – TDS, calculate DG when 9 g of HCl is reacted in excess NH3 for the following reaction at 25°C (or 298K):
NH3 (g) + HCl (g) ->NH4Cl (s)
given that DH = -176.0 kJ/mol and DS = -248.8 J K-1/mol.
2.Many researchers have investigated the use of hydrogen gas, H2, as an energy source for vehicles because it produces only non-polluting H2O (g).
H2 (g) + O2 (g) -> H2O (g)∆H at 298K = -241.8KJ
Given that the change in entropy, ∆S, at 298K is -44.4 J K-1, determine if the reaction above occurs spontaneously at room temperature of 298K. Explain if the spontaneity of the reaction will be affected if the temperature is being changed.
