needing designing ideas --> inspiration?

for a school project we have to make one functional textile item that can be used in an area of our house. It has to bee no more than 2 metres cotton and patchwork technique. It can be things like oven mits, apron cushion etc. Except I want to make something as unique and different as possible..
and ideas appreciated :) thanks
