Need WiFi capable phone

Hello,

I live in a non cellular coverage location but have high speed internet.
I really need to use my phone for voice and data while at home. I am tired or forwarding my calls to the home phone so I don?t miss a call.

Any ideas on a phone that does WiFi voice and data (emails) really well?
I will change my service provider if necessary.

Thanks,
Tony in Boston

No phone does WiFi voice. There is a version of Skype for mobile applications but generally cell phones do not have the bandwidth to allow decent voice quality connections. Don't know how SKYPE would work from your cell on WiFI, or if it is possible.

Why not just get a service such as Vonage or other VoIP provider?

Tmobile has their @home service. Only two phones are supported right now, but basically when you lose cellular coverage, the phone will switch to wifi (assuming there is an open network around). As a plus, you get unlimited wifi minutes with the plan so as long as your call originated on wifi, it'll be free.

Unfortunately, the two phones they currently offer with the service will not use wifi for data purposes, only voice. They must use edge for data
