Need to report a phone lost/stolen Verizon?

I know the basic steps to report a phone lost/stolen and the first is to suspend service to the phone. Verizon lets you do this supposedly either online or by phone. However, the online system is down and the phone system just looped me through repeatedly and then eventually hung up and didn't give me the Interactive Voice Response system that is supposedly there. I need to disable that phone RIGHT NOW. Does anybody know how I can?
