need to know where the detent switch is location on a 1984 chevy truck?

i have a1984 chevy truck that i just change the motor to a small block 350 with a 4 bolt main the Trans was shift ok before i change the eng and now it up shift fine ,but when you what down shift it takes a few second for it to catch up some one told it detent switch where do i find it
